The prince of wales gold rod Replica

The Prince’s Insignia was designed by the Welsh artist Sir Goscombe John and made by Garrards.  The pieces were made of gold obtained from the area of Caernorvon.  The Verge of the rod measures 28”.  The head of formed by three winged amorini supporting the Prince’s crown in which a cap is made of a single large amethyst.

The gold rod is a symbol of government.

The Investiture Insignia are called “The Honours of the Principality of Wales.

Prince Charles’s investiture took place in 1969.  The investiture Regalia consisted of a coronet, a ring, a rod, a sword and a mantle.  The rod, the ring and the sword of 1911 were reused for the coronation of Prince Charles.
